We have moved 100 metres down the street to a hotel with good wifi as I had some work to do ....it also has great breakfast and a bathroom bigger than a matchbox!
Yesterday we walked across the Seine and through the back streets to the Rodin museum to see his sculptures including "the thinker". Jen bought some new walking shoes (sandals) that have rescued her feet from the punishment of all the walking...From there we wandered to the Eiffel Tower. The weather is perfect... warm in the sun and cool in the shade.
Thankfully we didn't encounter any more gypsies unlike the other days...they don't like being photographed....
After our day out we caught the Metro back and then we went to a local restaurant for Raclette for dinner... great food and of course the french bread...mmm... a half bottle of Beaujolais went down well....
Then we wandered down the street to another cafe to sit and watch the world go by while Jen enjoyed her hot chocolate....
Today we have to be at Bastille at 2pm for the Opera...
We plan to leave Paris on Monday and head east... not sure where we will go at this stage...
Jen's french is going really well... she's enjoying talking to the shopkeepers and waiters...and they understand her fine.
Bob.
