Arriving in Venice

Well here we are in my favourite city.   We have a nice hotel near the train station so not far to wheel our bags!  Out of our window is the cobbled street below with people walking past.

We literally dumped our bags in our room and hit the streets ....

Heading across the island to Rialto...

Here we sat by the Grand Canal and had dinner with a view of the Rialto bridge as it started to get dark.  It also rained heavily while we were eating and cleared up just as we were ready to leave....

It was great just to watch the boats going past from our table by the water....

And a very tough view ....

We then continued our walk through the alleyways to S. Marc's square ... where we dived into a cafe for a coffee (and I had a Sambucca that was amazing).. before walking back.

Enjoying venice by night and the small canals...

Finally back to our hotel for the night...
